The Story So Far

The Quantum Leap RPG was started in December of 1999, but in the story the date was February 29, 2000.

Prologue

Doctor Samuel Beckett disappeared from the Project Quantum Leap Waiting Room in the Summer of 1999. Two weeks after his disappearance, the U.S. government decided that they could no longer justify the expense of funding the Project, especially with a man nowhere to be found. The top-secret complex at Stallion's Gate, New Mexico was abandoned and the project scientists were reassigned. Sam was categorized missing, presumed dead.

     As Sam's estate was settled, it was revealed that he had a daughter, conceived during one of his leaps, named Samantha Josephine Fuller. DNA tests were completed and Sammy Jo became Sam's legal heir. His wife, Donna Elesee, agreed to the terms since she no longer could bear with the thought of never seeing her husband again.

     Despite receiving the patent and documentation for PQL, she was denied access to Stallion's Gate as it was government property. With the help of the Project Observer, Admiral Albert Calavicci, and her best friend, Sable Mero, Sammy vowed to bring her father home, whatever the price. The trio managed to break into the complex and reprogram the security systems, allowing them access to the facility. Now with Ziggy, the parallel hybrid computer that runs Project Quantum Leap, back online and having denied the government access to the project, the old crew as well as new people have been invited to Stallion's Gate in order to relaunch PQL. Their first task: to retrieve Sam alive.

Tuesday, February 29, 2000

Over the past week there has been a steady trickle of people arriving at the complex. All kinds of interesting people have been setting into their quarters, and many of Sam's original crew along with a number of new faces have arrived. Sammy Jo and Sable arrange a meeting in the Control Room where all personelle attend. Sammy Jo and Sable had been working hard on reconfiguring the retrieval program, with some help from Al. Everyone was told that they would require a physical to create a medical profile if they did not already have one. Beth Calavicci, the first (and now, only,) wife of Al, was reinstated as chief medical officer. Luckily, there were a few new nurses as well as some of the former aides. Captain Genine Strickler, Al's personal body guard, was given the job of security chief, and Sable was designated head programmer. Other people at the complex were the various guards, nurses, and technicians, as well as: Doctor Verbina Beeks, project phychologist; Doctor Archibaldi Funckett, a seventy-two-year-old British scientest who met Sammy Jo during an internship; and Edith Broomberg, a ninety-two-year-old cleaning lady, also British.

     The angel Angelita Carmen Guadalupe Cecilia Jimenez arrived shortly after the meeting, but was greeted at the front door by bullets from Archi when he over-reacted to her being an intruder. Sable got hit in the cross-fire, and began seeing the image of Sam. He was there, alive. Archi went to get a medical crew and found a note from Edith in his room, explaining that she was his mother and Sam was her father. Sable was taken to the infirmary, flanked by Beth, Genine, and Angela.

     It was getting late, and Archi decided after reading the note to speak to Edith, but found her shot in the back. There was no way to revive her, and nobody could figure out a suspect let alone a motive. Everybody had a night's rest, and continued the investigation in the morning.

Wednesday, March 1, 2000

Archi realises that Genine has his gun, and accuses her of the murder. In the meantime, Sam was telling Sable how to retrieve him, which gave her the energy to run to the Control Room. Genine, Angela, Archi, Beth, Sammy Jo, and some technicians all see Sam as Sable pounces on him. Everyone wants to speak to Sam, but Beth and Angela had to go find Al, and Sammy was disgusted by Sable's pathetic showing and left, ending up in her quarters crying. Archi also left due to an 'accident' at the sight of his grandfather.

      Beth and Angela find Al, and Genine comes upon the three as Al stops his head from spinning at the sight of the angel. Sable also stumbles upon them, but heads to her quarters ot fantasize about Sam. Genine continued speaking to Al, explaining the death of Edith and the appearance of Angela, but his temper gets the better of him and he scares Genine into remembering her abusive father. But good news follows, Al hears about Sam and runs to see him.

     However, Archi tries to leave the complex and gets stopped by Genine, just outside of the main entrance. He had killed a guard near the entrance and revealed to Genine that he was in fact Edith's son, but she was not Sam's daughter, therefore he murdered Edith. He was about to shoot Angelita, but instead got shot in the head and died. At the same time, Nicky Funckett, Archi's grandson, was on his way to the project, followed closely by Sam's wife, Donna Elesee. Nicky was told of Archi's death and Dr. Beeks consoled him. However, Sam decided he must leap into Archi before the incident, but Genine could not let Sam do that, and she leaped instead.

     Angelita, Sammy Jo, Al, Sable, Genine, Beth, Donna, and Sam were all together in the Control Room before Genine leaped. Sam, however, had no recollection of the angel or his daughter. Sable filled him in on how he was retrieved, and Unfortunately, Genine did not leap into Dr. Funckett, but instead into a woman named Linda Kasabian of the Manson murders in California, 1969. Al observed and helped out Genine while most others went off to bed.

It was around one in the morning when Al got a page from Ziggy. Beth had just uploaded the medical files to Ziggy's database and a DNA match confirmed that Genine was Al's daughter with Lisa Sherman. Sam remembered Sammy Jo and ran off to find her in the gym with Sable. Donna appeared at the door, Sam and Sammy spoke a bit, and Sable ran off only to be called to meet with Verbina a little later. At the same time Al and Beth drilled Ziggy and Verbina for answers about Genine. Meanwhile, Genine was having troubles with the leap in maintaining her "character". Al helped her through it and when the turbulance was over, she leaped back to PQL. He took her to bed, and then he headed off to join Beth in bed. Everybody else got some rest as well, a late night for most.

In the morning, Sammy Jo and Sable butt heads in the Control Room over the fact that Sable is still in love with Sam from the time he leaped into her life in 1993, only to be interrupted by Donna and Sam. Genine awoke and went to see Angelita, and after Genine's meeting with the angel, she decided that she must continue the leaping process. Al tries to stop her, but she revealed to him that she has cancer and he lets her go in the hope that leaping would cure it. Al returned to his quarters and consulted Beth about the cancer aflicting Genine. Verbina met up with Al in the corridors, and she unintentionally pushed Al over the edge, his anger overwhealming him. He reached the security office and began bashing the wall, injuring his fists in doing so. Sable found him in this action, tried to calm him down, and Al embraced her. During their hug, he thought she was Beth and nearly kissed her. He came out of his daze, realised his hand was bleeding, and locked himself in his office. Neither of them noticed Sammy Jo who saw the entire thing. Their heads butt again, in Sable's quarters over the fact that Sammy Jo thinks Sable is after Sam and Al.

     Sable begins to have secret thoughts about leaping, to be with Sam again. Her return to the Control Room meets her up with Al again, and he tells her that he remember Sam's leap into her life. Al manages to fix things between Sammy and Sable, and decides to check up on Genine's situation. Genine had leaped into Al's father, Julian, in his house in Italy, shortly before his death because of cancer. Al is eleven-years old at the time Genine leaps into Julian, a few days remaining in Julian's life. However, Genine's cancer and Julian's cancer are causing great pain to her during the leap, and she decided to tell Al about her deception. She tells him that she isn't even in the military, she used her learned skills at fraud and forgery to create her own name, rank, and serial number, telling him because she didn't believe that she would ever have another chance. Al and Genine begin talking about her childhood, about Lisa Sherman and Genine's abusive step-father.

      Back at Project Quantum Leap, Sam and Donna were having a romantic interlude, and Beth went to the Control Room in search of Al. He just stepped out of the Imaging Chamber, and the two headed to the Waiting Room to meet Julian, but Beth and Al decide he should go alone. Julian thought he was in Heaven, his pain now gone. Verbina was talking with him, Julian thinking she was an angel. When they leave Julian alone in the Waiting Room, they have a long discussion about the whole situation. Verbina had received a call from Senator Weitzman saying that there was a warrent for Genine's arrest for impersonating an officer of the Navy. Al goes to the infirmary to have Beth tend to his hand injury. After talking about Julian and Genine, he headed to the Control Room and Beth went to her quarters.

      In the afternoon, Irving "Gooshie" Gushman arrived at the project, overjoyed to return to PQL. He reunited with Ziggy, and met Sable. The two were star-struck immediately, flirting right away. Just as they started talking, Verbina entered the Control Room, followed shortly by Al who was overwhealmed to see Gooshie again. Verbina filled him in on what had happened all week long, and he was back to work immediately when Ziggy gave a probability that Genine was to die in Julian's place. Al returned to the Imaging Chamber and Beth showed up in the Control Room, meeting Gooshie for the first time. When Ziggy suggests that Gooshie ask Sable out, he becomes embarassed and leaves the room, followed by Sable. Sable asks him to have coffee on the patio at seven o'clock later in the evening. Gooshie aggrees.

      Al talks with his father and brings him into the Imaging Chamber to meet Genine. After Al prays for her, she leaps seconds before death. After such emotional trauma, Al slipped into the past, thinking that Sam was still leaping. At that moment, Genine leaped into Verbina, a manner of minutes separating the past from present. Al was stuck in the summer of 1999 after Sam had leaped into the bar called "Al's Place", where he saw his own mirror image. Genine (in the aura of Verbina) takes Al to his quarters, trying to get him to come back to the present. They end up at Al's old quarters, whereupon Al goes to the bathroom to try to clear his blury vision. While Genine watied for him, a guard brough Elizabeth, Al's daughter, to the room. When Eliz and Al meet, Al doesn't remember her and makes a pass at her. Eliz burst into tears because her father had fogotten her, and Beth entered right after and soothed the crying Eliz. Of course, seeing Beth made Al realise that what Genine, in the aura of Verbina, had been telling him the truth about his lost memories. Al then charged off and locked himself in his office.

      Beth coaxes Al to open the door, and Genine takes Eliz to a quest quarters and then goes to Verbina's quarters to rest. Al and Beth remember Al's time while MIA and how Sam changed their lives for the better. They finally decide to head to Verbina's quarters, and begin the discussion about Al's memory loss. When Genine gets him an aspirin, Al accidentally drops the glass of water and cuts his hand on the broken glass. After Beth tends to the cut, Genine decides to attempt hypnotizing Al. Genine accidentally reveals that she is leaped into Verbina, and Al recalls Genine telling him about her fraudulant identity. Eventually, Al is brought out of the hypnosis and remembers everything, his memory is restored. He doesn't remember not remembering, however. He and Genine have a rather rocky hear-to-heart, discussing the entire situation. Genine says that she has been leaping for six and a half months, stating that Al had gone crazy from the stress of the observing leaps. They begin fighting, and Al starts showing symptoms again, his sight blurring, headaches, and getting numbness in different body parts, along with other pain. It grows until Al has a seizure, which ceases at the arrival of Beth and a medical team. A mysterious "3rd person" watched from the point where Al began having the seizure.

      At the same time, Gooshie and Sable decide to go for their coffee encounter, with Ziggy in her sleep mode, and head for the patio. The star-filled evening sky set the mood for them to talk, Gooshie explaining to Sable about his relationship with Tina and Sable explaining about her connection to the project through Sammy Jo. Sable reveals her psychic abilities to Gooshie, and they both tell each other about their mutual attraction. Just as they were about to kiss, Ziggy interrupted with her usual bad timing to notify that she had found Genine. On their way from leaving the patio, Sable grabbed Gooshie's arm and they kissed. Upon arriving in the Control Room, Ziggy turns around and directs Gooshie to the front doors of the complex, where Tina Martinez-O'Farrell had arrived. Tina had also received an e-mail from Ziggy and was just getting in the door when she was leaped into by Trinity Tremaine, a leaper from the evil project on her first assignment. After being led to the Control Room by Gooshie, and Gooshie left for the bathroom, Trinity and Sable made small talk until Thames Trabeck, the evil project's observer, arrived for Trinity.

      Sable discovers that Genine has leaped into Verbina, so Gooshie and Trinity (in the aura of Tina) head for the Waiting Room. Thames tells Trinity that she leaped there to kill Sam, with an 80% probability. Just as they enter the Waiting Room, Sam runs up to Gooshie and Trinity and greets them whole-heartedly. Gooshie and Verbina talk about the situation with Al and Genine, while Trinity left to talk to Thames. Verbina becomes concerned about Al, so Gooshie asks Sam to go see Ziggy. Sam catches Trinity talking to Thames, but she creates an excuse and they head to the Control Room to join Sable and talk to Ziggy. Sam asks Ziggy about Al, and at that point, Thames leaves to confer with Lothos.

      Sammy Jo heard about Al and rushed to the infirmary to help out. With the consultation of Ziggy, they discovered that Al had been suffereing from Transient Ischemic Attacks, which are small strokes. They have to have Alteplase flown in to the project to treat Al. However, Sammy Jo and Beth decide that operating on Al by opening his head to remove the clot in his temporal lobe. While Beth performed the operation with local anesthetic, Sammy Jo remained for moral support, but Genine could not go into the OR so she went to sleep in Verbina's quarters for three hours. The operation was an eventual success. Sammy Jo left afterward to rest in her quarters. Two hours later, Al woke up. Beth had stayed at his side, and they decide he should get some rest. Beth takes up a bed next from him in the recovery room.

Saturday, March 4, 2000

In the early morning, Al woke up again to find Beth still in the neighbouring bed. Al moved to his quarters, and hile Beth got Al some milk, Sammy Jo was paged by Ziggy to visit Al. Sammy was feeling guilty for putting Beth through the trauma of operating on her husband. However, they became concerned with why Genine had not leaped. Ziggy predicted that she had already accomplished her mission and that Al should visit her. Genine happened to show up at Al's quarters just as they were suggesting to go see her. Just as she was explaining how she knew about her leap, she fell to the floor into unconciousness. At the same moment as Genine fell unconcious, Gooshie and Sam decided to see Al and find out about his condition in person. Sable and Trinity returned to the Control Room. Beth and Al move Genine to their bed, leaving Sammy Jo, Sam, and Gooshie in the living room. Sammy noticed the look on Sam's face (since she didn't tell him she'd returned from her short vacation), but he felt guilty for not reaquainting himself with Al and Sammy Jo after his return. After a bit of talking, Sam invites Sammy Jo to the patio to talk things over, their first time alone together.

      Upon their arrival at the patio in the early morning light, some stars still shining, Sam and Sammy Jo get to talking, with Sammy telling him about how she ended up at PQL, and Sam thinking about the five years he can't remember. Sammy Jo tells him that Abigail Fuller died shortly before Sammy arrived at the project, thought Sam didn't remember anything about her. They talked a bit, feeling awkward, when suddenly Sam felt a sharp pain in his head, and he blacked out. Sammy Jo rushed to his side, getting Ziggy to call a medical team immediately. In a few moments, Sam came around, after having remembered part of his leap into Harry Spontini.

      Gooshie had returned to the Control Room and things were heating up between him and Sable again. He invited her to the patio for the coffee they never got to having, not realising that Sam and Sammy were out there. Upon their arrival, Sable suggests they go to her quarters to talk since they don't want to interrupt Sammy Jo and Sam. Sable addressed Gooshie about Sam's leap into Calvin Decher and she told him about it as they enered his quarters instead. She broke down while talking about Sam forgetting his love for her. Ziggy interrupted them and ordered them to the Control Room per Al's orders. Just as Gooshie and Sable arrive, questioning Al's orders, Trinity returned to the Control Room.

      Meanwhile, Laura Adler, Sam's unknown half-sister, arrived at the front gates of the project. She began snooping around the gates and set of an alarm, which triggered Genine awake and got her up and going, being in charge of security. Genine reaches the main gate where a guard had apprehended Laura. They bring her to the main doors, where Lt. Austin Jacobson is trying to keep her out, but Al arrives at the scene to take over, while three other guards take Genine to the infirmary. The moment she was in an infirmary bed, she began to feel the sensation of leaping. Laura, as it turns out, was the daughter of Thelma Beckett and her second husband, after John Beckett died in 1972, and was born in 1980. She was given up for adoption and her adoptive parents died, leaving her to live with her adoptive aunts. Laura had gotten in contact with Thelma and she wrote to Laura about Sam. This caused Laura to go searching for her half-brother. Before Genine could leap, she went searching for Al, but ended up in Verbina's quarters again. Al sensed something wrong and left Laura with a guard at the front entrance.

      Just after Laura and Al began talking, Dr. Alyssa Madison arrived at the gates of Project Quantum Leap, a childhood friend to Sam. She had the same idea as Laura to get through the fencing by force. Once over, Austin was alerted by a guard about the second trespasser, so he went to "greet" her. She asked Austin if she could go get some stuff from her car, and when she returned Austin took her to the reception area along with Laura. Pretty soon after the two women were inside, another person showed up named Harry Winters, Archi's grandson and a policeman. He sat in the bushes and waited to see what was going on inside the fence. Eventually, he made his way to the main door.

      Beth, from the patio, heard Al scream from Verbina's quarters, and rushed to find him and Genine (still in the aura of Verbina), where Genine had found out that it had only been two weeks she'd been leaping, not six months. She had leaped back from ten days in the future. Sam followed Beth to the quarters, feeling pity for Genine and himself about her pain from leaping. Sammy Jo remained on the patio to ponder, then headed to her quarters. Sam could no longer endure the pain of seeing Al and Genine, so he left to find Donna. When she wasn't in their quarters, he headed to the Control Room to see what was going on there. He was told by Gooshie that Al had ordered them there, and he decided that a visit with Verbina would be appropriate before Genine leaped. Genine, just before she leaped, told Al not to trust Tina, but couldn't tell him why, because the blue light enveloped her, and Verbina found herself slumped against Al.

      Donna awoke from her long sleep and happened to walk by Sable's open quarters. Since she knew that Sable was obsessed with Sam, she thought a little harmless snooping wouldn't hurt. However, Donna came upon Sable's diary and found notes about Sam's leap into Calvin. This led her to believe Sable had hopes of Sam remembering the leap, so she headed to the Archive Room to read up on that leap. She eventually came across the leap information from 1993, reading all documents related to the leap.

      After Verbina's return, Al headed directly for the Control Room, insistant in finding Genine. Gooshie fired up the Imaging Chamber and the emotion-wrought Al entered. Trinity, in the aura of Tina, feigns worry about Genine but observes the people going about their work. Verbina entered the room just as Ziggy gets a lock on Genine and discovers that she has been captured by Lothos, and is being tortured by Edward Grant, Lothos's top master pursuasion technician, at their complex. Thames shows up for Trinity shortly after the capture of Genine, causing Trinity to think that she was there so Lothos could track Genine's leap. However, she doesn't leap, and Thames explains that she has to kill Sam. When she hears this, she runs out of the room, and Trinity realises that she's grown to like these people and can't kill Sam.

      After Trinity runs away and Al is in the Imaging Chamber, Sam asks what these 'evil leapers' are, and Ziggy explains about the three leaps where Sam met Alia and Zoey. At that point, Gooshie realised that he needed some fresh air, and left the Control Room only to come upon a broken Trinity (whom he thinks is Tina). She received word from Thames that she must kill Sam to leap, then leaves. When Gooshie comes upon her, she begins to cry and he embraces her. She decides as long as she's ruining the project, she may as well have fun at it, and kissed Gooshie passionately, without resistance. Sable began trying to talk to Sam with stuttered words, and Donna burst into the Control Room, infuriated with the information she uncovered in the Archive Room. She exposed Sable's thoughts of getting back together with Sam, and brought proof from Sable's room and the Archive Room. Sam and Verbina watched in shock, then Donna gave him the photos and papers. In the photos, Sam only recognised Sable, his memory being wiped clean of all leaps. Sam tells Sable that they can never be together, and he and Donna left the Control Room. They come upon Gooshie and Trinity in a romantic position in the alcove beside the elevator. They both become very embarassed and Gooshie runs off down the hallway, followed by Trinity. Donna and Sam are puzzled, but continue to their quarters. Trinity manages to get Gooshie into another kiss, right in front of the Control Room as Sable was leaving to go to her quarters. She is heartbroken, after Sam and now Gooshie, and rushes toward her quarters to be alone, but ends up out of breath and slides down a wall of a corridor. Gooshie follows after her, and Trinity goes into the Control Room. Eventually, Gooshie gives up on finding Sable and returns to the Control Room.

      Sammy Jo decided to keep out of everyone's hair and headed for the reception area to meet with the two new-comers. Alyssa explained her presence and the letter she received from Sam before he leaped. After settling the two visitors down, Sammy Jo left for the Control Room.

      Al, meanwhile, had just been revealed to Genine in the Imaging Chamber. She was in an all-white room being interrogated by Edward for information. She wouldn't give it to him, so he tortured her by causing her to remember her step-father's abuse. Zoey had been observing the torture of Genine and Trinity's leap from Central Control, so she decided to visit Trinity since Thames wasn't getting through to her. Just at that moment, Gooshie was trying the retrieval program, and when it failed, Al came rushing out of the Imaging Chamber and stripped down to put on a Fermi suit. Once in the Accelerator Chamber, Al sealed the door, and Ziggy called Sam and Donna back down to the Control Room. They arrive too late, however, and Al is gone. He managed to leap into Genine, her now in the Accelerator Chamber. However, Al's seal on the door will not release because Ziggy took is as a permanent lock.. However, Sammy Jo shows up and uses her backdoor pass code, and just as she, Sam, and Donna are carrying Genine (in the aura of Al) out of the Accelerator Chamber, Sammy Jo is leaped into Lothos's project, mistaken for Genine. After seeing this, Zoey decided to return to Central Control, leaving Trinity with a warning to finish her objective soon. Genine is placed on the floor, and Trinity walks over and wipes a spot of blood from Genine's forehead. Having forgotten the time when Alia and Sam touched and saw each other, she is confused when she suddenly sees Genine instead of Al. Genine woke up to see Donna and Verbina at her side, as well as Trinity without her Tina aura.

      After Al leaps in, Edward left the first interrogation room to speak to Lothos. Edward is allowed any pursuasion methods on Al, short of killing him. At that moment, Sammy Jo is leaped into the second interrogation room and Edward quickly asks her name, and she says Sammy Jo. Edward begins to say her name, but she interrupts and says, "No. Sam is my father." Edward takes her to a smaller room and requests that Zoey come to aid him in the interrogation of Al.

      Ziggy tells Sam that Sammy Jo had been captured by the other project; he knew that he had to save her. Trinity started priding herself in that she wouldn't have to kill Sam since he was being leaping into Sammy Jo. Donna tried pleading with Sam to stay, but since Sammy had saved him from being stuck in time, he knew he had to save her now. Immediately after Sam's leap, Genine calls security to the Control Room to apprehend Trinity. She tells Gooshie to keep his eye on Trinity, letting everyone know that she's not really Tina, and then heads to the Imaging Chamber to see Al. Ziggy gives Gooshie an update, making him realise that they had left Sammy Jo in the Accelerator. He asks Ziggy to page Sable and Beth to the Control Room. Upon Beth's arrival, Gooshie tells her all about what had happened, and she got to looking after Sammy Jo. Since everybody was distracted with either Sammy Jo or working at the main control board, Trinity managed to sneak out of the Control Room and headed for the elevator. Genine immediately called security to get them to apprehend Trinity.

      Tina woke up soon after Sam's leap, finding herself in the Holding Room. She immediately begins questioning, and Lothos manages to have an "amusing" conversation with her. Once Zoey arrived in Interrogation Chamber 1, she removed his aura (of Genine), and Edward as sent to get Sam. Sam was only able to get a bearing on his surroundings before Edward came to take him to Interrogation Chamber 1, where Al was strapped down. Sam was placed in a chair and Zoey removed Sam's aura. Lothos states that Sam must sit absolutely still and watch the torture of Al, otherwise Al will be killed. Edward induced shocks on Sam and Al, rendering them both in much pain and anger. Genine decided that she must leap to save the two of them, and upon returning to the Control Room, immediately noticed Trinity missing. At that time, Trinity was trying to escape through the front door, but when she tells Ziggy to open the door, an alert sounds and Austin in the reception area caught her.

      Genine implimented her plan to leap as close to Lothos's mainframe as possible. Austin brought Trinity to the Control Room after Genine had donned a Fermi suit, and held out another one to Trinity. Trinity makes no move to put it on, so Genine tells Austin to lock her in the Waiting Room. Immediately afterward, Gooshie activates the leap program, leaping Genine into Leonard Stanson, a programmer for Lothos who only answers to Zoey. Gooshie managed to hack into Lothos with basic security which allowed Genine access to higher systems. Gooshie then called Austin back to take Leonard from the Accelerator Chamber. Trinity tells Leonard to play dumb, and Thames appears to help them.

      Meanwhile, Genine had managed to find a weapon and headed for Interrogation Room 1, holding up Zoey and Edward in the aura of Leonard. Zoey, wearing a Lucretia ring (a ring with a poisoned needle), holds Sam hostage in case Genine decided to start shooting. Gooshie, at the same time, altered the Imaging Chamber to match up his brainwaves with the three leapers in the Interrogation Room. Once in the Imaging Chamber, Gooshie noticed the situation at hand and with the handlink, hacked deeper into Lothos's mainfraim and put out the lights. However, Lothos finds the path of hacking and sends a shock equal to the ones administered to Al and Sam, causing Gooshie to drop his handlink and lose it in the hologram. This caused the electricity to be restored to Lothos's project. Genine bargained with Lothos to release Sam and Al and keep her there as a new leaper for him, threatening with the virus running through his system. Lothos sends Sam and Al back to the project, but also retrieves Leonard Stanson to the interrogation room, thus preventing Genine from being retrieved to Project Quantum Leap. Genine gives Leonard the deactivation code for the virus, and within five minutes, it is removed from Lothos's systems. Zoey, angered that she didn't get to kill Sam, went to her quarters in a rage and questioned Lothos's actions. He icily explained his plans and she headed to see Dr. Peter Hugen to tell him to prepare Genine's operation to insert the implants, allowing Lothos to watch and see everything.

      Once safe back in the Control Room, Sam and Al embraced Donna and Beth (respectively). However, once Al and Beth release, Lothos leaps Al back into his project. Al is told that Lothos placed markers within Al's brain so that he can be located at any time for when or if Genine fails an assignement or exacts injury upon Lothos or the project. Upon his return, he feels himself in Beth's arms, and slowly slides to the floor into unconciousness.

      Genine "felt" Al being retrieved, and Gooshie confirmed it. Edward takes Genine to Central Control, and after Zoey's visit to Dr. Hugen, Zoey sees her sobbing on fhe floor because she thought she'd failed Al. Gooshie notes that Al had been returned, but didn't tell her that he was out cold. Zoey escorts Genine to the infirmary, with Gooshie following along. However, once Genine is in the operation room, a sheilding is put up so that Gooshie can not access Genine. Genine is anesthetised and Dr. Hugen imbeds implants into Genine's eyes and ears so that Lothos can observe everything she does, like everybody else in the complex. She is placed in a recovery room once the surgery is finished.

      Gooshie returned to the Control Room after the connection with Genine was severed. At that time, Beth instructed Sam to go with a nurse, Bridgette Scott, to the infirmary to have the CAT scan done (which Beth had told Sam to have done when he remembered his leap into Harry Spontini). Also, Donna noticed Gooshie's over-stressed state, and told him to take a break while she took over for him. Gooshie headed for Sable's quarters, wondering why she never showed up to the Control Room earlier. Sable answered the door, angry to see him. He explains how it wasn't Tina, but Sable in her upset state manages to push Gooshie over the edge, and he rages to his room, ripping off the plastic coverings on his furniture. Sable also stormed out of her quarters, but went to the gym instead, releasing her anger on the punching bag. Gooshie decided to search after her once he calmed down a bit, and found her in the gym resting her head on the punching bag. Thinking of what Al once said, Gooshie walked over to Sable and kissed her. This prompted them to make up, and they made it back to Sable's quarters. Gooshie headed to his own quarters after they talked for a while, both of them feeling the effects of over-exhaustion.

      Thames told Trinity that she'd better accomplish her task soon, so she tries to get out of the Waiting Room by flirting with Austin and claiming to have to use the washroom. Nobody knows that Austin has a thing for Tina, but he knows that it is a leaper and tells her to use the bathroom within the Waiting Room. She and Thames devise a plan, and Trinity pretends to trip and hurt her ankle, hoping to get some sympathy from Austin. She gets his gun from him, knocks him out, and escapes to the reception area to shoot Sam.

      After Sam's CAT scan, he received a message in his quarters, alerting him about Laura and Alyssa. He had a quick shower, changed out of the Fermi suit, and arrived at the reception area. He begins talking to Laura, but Trinity enters the room. She tries shooting him in the head, but aimed at his shoulder instead. She tried shooting again, but the gun only had one bullet. Thames suggests physical beating to kill him, and she kicks him in the head, knocking him unconcious. Laura and Alyssa watched on in horror, too scared to attempt doing anything to Trinity. Lieutenant Harris arrived at the locked door with a security team. Once the lock is disabled, they surround Trinity just as she leaps out of Tina. Tina, confused from being in a white room then in the reception area, sees herself surrounded by guards and a seriously-wounded Sam at her feet. A medical team takes Sam to the infirmary, and Verbina takes Tina along, knowing that she will need much counselling. At the same time, Al and Sammy Jo were being moved from the Control Room to the infirmary since they hadn't woked from their unconciousness yet. Sam was placed in a bed with Sammy Jo in a bed on the left, Al in a bed on the right. They were both unconcious, and Sam eventually slipped of to sleep.

      As soon as Trinity is back at her own project, Lothos ordered her immediately transported to a torture cell to begin immediate punishment. Trinity is sentenced to a year of correction, and Lothos also assigns Zoey two months and Thames ten days, because Trinity failed at her task, Zoey had reccomended her to be the leaper, and Thames was her observer. Zoey is assigned to Mara, one of Zoey's top torture students (next to Edward). Thames is assigned to Graydon, another torture master. Trinity is assigned to Jorica, a third torture master.

      Verbina tries convincing Tina that is wasn't her fault Sam was shot, but in her mind she had been the one who did the deed. Tina is convinced that she shot Sam, and has some residual memories from Trinity. Verbina also has to explain that Genine is Al's daughter. Tina recalls her time in the Holding Room and hearing Lothos's voice, and insists that she shot Sam. Verbina tells her to get some sleep, while she herself did the same.

      As Sam is moved to the infirmary by Beth and a medical crew, Ziggy let Donna know what was going on. She rushed off to meet them in the infirmary.

After a few hours of sleep, Sam woke up in the early morning after feeling the pain that he did on the patio again, this time remembering Alia. Just at that moment, Alia leaped into Bridgette Scott, a nurse in the infirmary. He cried out Alia's name upon awakening, surprising her and everyone else around. Sam's holler woke up Al, causing him to think about Alia and that she's evil. Sam begins expressing feelings of guilt when he thinks back on all that's happened since he came home. Somehow, Al knows Alia is there, and stutters it out to Sam. Sam decides to have the two women in the reception area called to him since they wanted to see him. Laura arrives post haste, and as soon as she and Sam begin talking, Sammy Jo begins to stir from her sleep. She tells Sam that she feels fine, and Sam and Laura get down to business. Laura gives him the letter from Thelma, shocking Sam after he read it. Alia approached Al when he woke up, but he knew she wasn't Bridgette. Everyone turns their attention to Al and Alia as he begins to speak, accusing Bridgette of being an intruder.

     Genine woke up in the early morning, finding herself in a tight, black suit, and hearing Lothos's voice in her head. Dr. Hugen's surgery was effective. Lothos tells her that she can not escape, but when she tries, two guards capture her and toss her back into the recovery room. Dr. Hugen is then summoned to place a correction chip in her lower neck on the spinal cord, without any anesthetic, and falls unconcious after the surgical incision is closed.

      Twelve hours later, she wakes up again to the sound of Lothos's voice in her head. Dr. Hugen arrives on the scene to reccomend no food for Genine for another hour because of the sedative, and suggested that she bathe and change into a new uniform. Peter took Genine to the bathing room to be under the care of Augusta, a senior nurse.

      Ziggy paged Gooshie in his quarters, noting that she had re-established a lock on Genine's brainwaves. Gooshie headed for the empty Control Room and fired up the Imaging Chamber. He found Genine in her bathtub, and as soon as she opened her eyes, Lothos could see him through her implants. Lothos immediately calls Edward to place an interference collar on Genine so that she can not be retrieved. Gooshie is shocked when Lothos gloats to him. When Genine refuses to look or talk to Gooshie for the reason that then Lothos can't see him, he initiates the correction chip. Augusta helps Genine from drowning after the electrocution, and immediately afterward Lothos orders her to talk to Gooshie. She began covering herself with a towel (being naked in the bathtub), but Lothos demanded she speak to him without any covering. As Lothos continues to tell Genine to tell Gooshie to look at her body, he looks into her eyes with determination, as if looking at Lothos himself. Lothos goes as far to address Gooshie by his name, putting him into confusion. He and Lothos spit words back and forth before Gooshie decided to leave to consult with Ziggy.

      Because Genine did not comply completely with Lothos's orders, she is ordered to stand beside the tub as Augusta replaced the water and a persuasion apprentice was ordered to whip Genine six times across the back for her insubordination. Dr. Hugen arrives, noticing the angry red welts on Genine's back. He realises that he's fallen in love with her, and has to force down his emotions of protection for fear of Lothos's retribution. Instead, he demands that he take Genine into his private care becuase of the extensive "treatment" she's received over the past while. Once in his quarters, Peter and Genine can do whatever they want since Lothos's surveilance is not in Peter's quarters, and the implants don't work because of the special area in which Peter's quarters are located. Because Genine is naked aside from the towel wrapped around her, Peter gives her his bathrobe to wear. Peter served her a dinner of broth, and while helping her to put on a hospital gown brought to his quarters by Olivia, they kissed, and Peter professed his love for Genine. She told him about how when she was eleven her step-father raped her, then raped and killed her mother (Lisa Sherman). Peter told her she can sleep in the cot in his bedroom or with him in his bed, if she was ready. They made love, and Genine had a nightmare about her father.

      Lothos adresses Jorica, one of Trinity's TMs, after twenty hours of correction, telling her to get Trinity fed and washed up. Trinity is brought to the bathing room and put under the care of Augusta for a half-hour, then ate, and had five hours of rest. When she asked Jorica where she will be sleeping, she was informed that she will only speak when spoken to, or she would suffer the consequences. She ate, then was returned to her cell to sleep. After forty minutes, Edward arrived to take over for Jorica.

      Directly after talking to Jorica, Lothos tells Zoey in her cell with Mara that her torture is now over, instructing her to report to the infirmary and then to her own quarters for twelve hours before returning to duty. When she arrived at the infirmary, Olivia Robinson, a senior nurse, began treating her for the whip welts, and then placed Zoey into a medicated bath. Somehow, she could sense that Alia had leaped into Project Quantum Leap, and advised Lothos that they should make certain. He has the contact through Al's brain markers, and allowed Zoey to observe using the markers. Within the hour, she was ready to observe.

      Verbina and Tina headed for the infirmary after some rest in an attempt to help Tina with her guilt. They found Al talking about Alia being Bridgette. Sable happened to be passing the infirmary, and saw Tina, and decided to ask her what was going on with Al. Tina, never having met Sable before, is wary to speak with her. After a bit of settling down, Tina saw Sam again and dashed off to the alcove by the elevator, crying into the pillow on the sofa there. Gooshie decided to leave the Control Room after some time working on retrieving Genine, and when he exited the elevator, he found Tina on the couch. Sable left the infirmary shortly after, and Gooshie saw her nearly in tears at the elevator as he was consoling Tina. She told him she was going to go rest and invited him to come along. He had to refuse and sent Sable on her way to get some sleep. He then invited Tiina to the Control Room to talk to Ziggy about her leaping experience while he would work on finding Genine.

      After Tina and Sable left, Sam invited Laura to talk in a more private place. Al finished trying to rid the infirmary of Alia, after Beth and Verbina got him back into bed, Beth began consoling her when Alia feigned crying. Al didn't believe it and grabbed her arm. Because he had been leaping, he could see Alia through her aura now, as well as everyone else. This prompted Sam to stand up and begin approaching them, Al having a firm grip on Alia's wrists. Verbina could see that he was hurting her, and ordered him to stand back, telling him that she was there to help. She suddenly felt that Zoey was on her way, and told Al that the markers had to be disabled before that could happen. Zoey arrived and was utterly surprised by the precense of Alia, and Lothos told Zoey that she can not be seen by anybody in the infirmary. Donna decided to take Laura, Sammy Jo, and Beth to one of the back rooms until Al, Sam, Alia, and Verbina had figured out what was going on.

      Alia sensed Zoey's precense, and when she mentioned to Al and Sam to not acknowledge her, she noticed a look of pain in each of their eyes (from the torture they had received jointly from Zoey and Edward before Genine rescued them). Al could smell linament, either from Sam or Zoey, and began having a coughing fit from it. In the Control Room, Ziggy immediately alerted Gooshie that there were two people she could detect who weren't supposed to be there, one of them Alia, the other Zoey, and she immediately ertected a field to keep anything form entering or exiting. When Zoey tried exiting the Holographic Chamber, she found she couldn't, and Lothos decided that shocking Al through his markers might convince them to release the quantum inhibitting field. Sam and Verbina try to convince Al to trust Alia, and shortly after Ziggy ordered, Austin and two guards enter the infirmary with orders to apprehend Bridgette, but before they can take her, Al began thrashing in the bed from the shock to his brain. Al ordered Austin to leave Alia there, and Ziggy to stop whatever she'd done. The field was shut down, and Al passed out on the floor from so much shock to the brain. Gooshie asked Tina to go to the infirmary with him, but she convinced him to go get some rest. Tina headed off for her quarters, and sobbed herself to sleep on the bed after removing the plastic cover. Gooshie went to see Sable in her quarters, and they tell each other how glad they are to be together. They both went to Sable's bed and fell asleep almost immediately.

      After Al's collapse to the floor, Angela (the angel) had returned again, and she immediately headed for the infirmary after Ziggy updated her. She rushed to Al's side, seeing Alia as Alia, and Zoey, just as she could see Al during Sam's leap. Angela immediately told Zoey to leave, but Zoey answered back that she was there until told to leave. Lothos recognises Angela for what she is, after she had interferred with his plans in other leaps. Angela asked Sam and Alia if they would help Al, and both didn't hesitate to say yes. Alia knew how to help Al be free of the markers on his brain, but she still needed approval from Beth. Upon Beth agreeing, they immediately moved Al to the operating room. Alia and Sam don the surgical garb and prepare to operate on Al. Sam injected a solution into Al's brainstem to stop the flow of oxygen to his braincells, thus killing the markers in every cell of his brain. After three-and-a-half minutes of waiting, the second syringe was used to inject amyl nitrate into Al's brain to bring him back to life. Al managed to survive the procedure, and as quickly as she arrived, Alia felt herself beginning to leap. She and Sam shook hands, and then hugged. Sam then found himself hugging thin air, wondering to where Bridgette had disappeared.

      Zoey, then enraged by the disappearance of Alia, exited the Holographic Chamber to find out what had happened. After an entire day's rest, and wondering what had happened, she returned to Central Control the next night. Sam journeyed back to the infirmary to tell everyone that Al will be fine. Sammy Jo and Donna left Sam alone with Laura to talk, then went into the main area of the infirmary. Donna asked Verbina where Angelita had gone. Verbina doesn't recognise the name, and in a few minutes they saw her talking to Beth in Al's room, not recognising the angel at all. They decide to leave and head for the cafeteria, Donna, Verbina, and Sammy Jo. They each had a little kahlua to drink and talked for over an hour before they all headed off to bed. Verbina decided to go see Tina first, but after seeing how tired Tina was, Verbina made an appointement to see her in the morning, and went to her quarters to sleep.

      Sam and Laura discussed their family, and what Laura's position would be at the project. She was an excellent computer hacker, so Sam told her she could help them out in the Control Room. Sam led her to some guest quarters, then he went to his own, falling asleep as soon as he hit the mattress.

      Al and Beth talked in the operating room for a few moments, and when he fell into slumber, Beth requested he be transfered back to the infirmary. Beth had just begun paperwork at Al's bedside in the infirmary, when Angelita showed up to say goodbye. When Beth thanks her and they said goodbye, Beth already began forgetting Angela as she walked out of the infirmary, a tear in her eye.

Back in Trinity's cell, in the early hours of the morning, four hours had passed since Edward took over for Jorica. He woke up Trinity, and took her on a walk so that she would be embarassed to be seen naked in the menial work sector. He took her out for four hours of parading and she suffered the humiliation of being fondled by the labourers. He decided to take it upon himself to use sexual torture to inflict pain upon Trinity.

     Early in the morning, Sable woke up yelling out Sam's name after having dreamt about the time she and Sam shared together, waking up herself and Gooshie. Gooshie tried to get Sable to talk about her dream, but she convinced him that she was okay, and they both went back to sleep. At the same time, Al awoke in the infirmary, and suddenly began remembering everything that happened. Soon afterward, Ziggy called Gooshie down to the Control Room. Bridgette had re-appeared in the Waiting Room, and Gooshie helped her out, suggesting that she report to Beth. She did so, and she and Beth talked about what had happened. Bridgette headed for her quarters. Gooshie returned to the Control Room, falling asleep on a control board and waking up at six o'clock.

     Five in the morning came around, with Peter watching over Genine after her nightmare. Olivia arrived after they had both showered, and Genine tucked herself into the cot while Peter fixed himself some coffee. Olivia mentioned that today was the bi-weekly check-up on the correctional facility "habitants". He noticed a look in Olivia's eyes, and when questioned, she mentioned that Edward had been assigned to Trinity. Genine overheard the conversation and asked to go with Peter to help Trinity, her knowing what it was like to be violently raped. He said no because rape was an allowed part of the torturing process.

      Jackie-Leigh Johnstone, a liaison to the governmental committee that funded Quantum Leap, arrived at the complex shortly after people began arriving in the Control Room to talk to Al since the government had just discovered that PQL was running again. She was led to a conference room to wait for Al.

     Gooshie had called Sable to the Control Room, and when she arrived, they began trying to figure out how to save Genine. They also called Sam down, shortly after six o'clock. He found that he was still in his clothes from yesterday, and made a quick change, noticing that Donna had slipped in at some point during the night. When he arrived in the Control Room, he suggested that Laura could help out, too, and get aquainted with the computer system. Al woke up at about six thirty, insisting that he go help find Genine. Beth forced him back to bed, however.

     Laura had been paged to the Control Room by Sam, and when she arrived, he introduced her to Gooshie and Sable. Al dreamed about Genine, and woke up sweating. Al got himself to his quarters, changed his clothing, and headed to the Control Room. Sam ran up to Al as soon as he was in the door, telling him that he should rest after the operation. There was no time for Al to responde as a guard had arrived at the entrance to the Control Room with an impatient Jackie-Leigh. Al told her that the project would stay running until Genine was brought back home. Al and Jackie both left for Al's office to continue their talk.

     Sam returned to a control panel, finding that he had a new e-mail in his account. It was from his nephew Devon, Tom's son. After reading it, he turned to Laura and told her that his plane would land in Albequerque at three in the afternoon. When Sable heard this, she became emotional and ran out of the Control Room quickly, and Gooshie quickly chased after her. She was headed for the Archive Room, picking up and reading the pile of photos and information that had been returned after Donna collected them and showed them to Sam, and Sable locked the door, disallowing access to everyone. Since Gooshie couldn't talk her out, he headed back to the Control Room to help with Sam and Laura. He told them about it, and suggested that Verbina come to help out, and when she arrived, the four went to the Archive Room, explaining the situation. Verbina told Gooshie that she'd have to talk to Sable alone, so Laura, Sam, and Gooshie returned to the Control Room.

     After two hours, Al had told Jackie all about what had happened since Sam came home, then briskly left his office with her chasing after him. He found Gooshie at the Archive Room with Verbina, and immediately used his override code to open the door. Tina also joined them shortly, mainly searching out Verbina for a counselling session. However, Al's code did not open the door, so he told everyone that he was going to sleep for a while in his quarters. On his way, he met up with Jackie again, who insisted upon continuing talking to him. She told him that she was there to help, and insisted that she help bring Genine home.

      Sam returned to the Archive Room, telling Sable that her skills were required. Tina saw that Sable needed Verbina's help more than herself, so she headed back to her quarters, literally running into Beth on the way. Sam bargained with Sable and got into the Archive Room with her alone, with her holding a knife to her neck to ensure that Sam came in alone. After she explained that she was distressed over Sam not remembering the leap, she ran out of the Archive Room and jumped into the Accelerator Chamber after using a special pre-set code she imbedded in Ziggy. She leaped. Meanwhile, Gooshie and Laura talked about Devon and the stresses of their lives, and as if on queue, Sable ran in and leaped. Sam and Verbina showed up just as Sable had leaped, and as it turned out, leaped into herself shortly before Sam leaped into her life in 1993. Laura and Gooshie moved the unconcious leapee Sable from the Accelerator to the Waiting Room, followed by Sam and Verbina. Verbina insisted that she be the only one there when 1993 Sable woke, so Sam went to find Sammy Jo and Gooshie went to observe with Laura at the main control board.

      Gooshie saw Sable, and began to panic when she didn't remember him. Al returned to the Control Room and helped Gooshie through the first little part of observing, then when he heard where Sam went, he decided to go after him. By finding a calendar, Gooshie learned that it was May 22, 1993, and a half-hour after Marc had sexually abused Sable the leapee, so he immediately alerted Verbina to be careful when Sable would wake up in the Waiting Room. Gooshie tells Sable how she got there, and that he knows about her special powers. Sable realised that if she got involved with Sam again, who would be leaping in soon, that she'd be heartbroken a second time over, and began to panic. Sable went out into the living room with Marc, and when he had gone into the bathroom for a shower, Gooshie asked her back into the bedroom to talk. Ziggy had discovered that Sam would be leaping into Calvin Decher soon, and that Sable was there to change history so that she would be the one to stop Marc from killing her, not Sam. Gooshie mentioned that if Sable doesn't do what Ziggy predicted, then it could jeapordize Sam's life, as well. Just as Gooshie finished relaying the information, Marc barged into the room, wearing only a towel. Marc had heard Sable talking to Gooshie, and assumed that she had phoned someone. He got angry and decided to release his anger by forcing Sable into sex.

     Sam's visit with Sammy Jo was short as he told her about what Sable had done (leaping). Sammy Jo rushes to the Imaging Chamber and begins to lecture Sable, who decides to beckon to Marc's call and storms out of the room. Gooshie tells Sammy Jo that he can handle the situation, and she explodes, charging into the Control Room and yelling out at Sam and Laura, and then ran off to her quarters in a fury.

      After some debugging of the retrieval program, Sam mentioned breakfast to Laura. The two of them headed to the cafeteria, paging Donna, Beth, Al, and Tina to the cafeteria, as Gooshie was observing, Sammy Jo was angry, and Verbina was with the visitor in the Waiting Room. On his way, Al ran into Sammy Jo, and convinced her to come along after hearing her hardships about her father. Sam began to prepare "Eggs á la Beckett" as Al, Sammy Jo, Beth, and Tina filtered into the cafeteria, joining Laura at a large, round table. Donna came in last, just as breakfast was ready. They all sat down to eat, and Verbina came to get a tray for herself and one for Visitor Sable. Sammy Jo insisted on going to the Control Room to check on Sable, and when she saw what was happening in the Imaging Chamber, she decided to leap herself into Sable. Miracuously, it worked, and Sammy Jo leaped into Sable, beating up Marc.

     Breakfast was interruped when Ziggy told everyone in the Cafeteria that Sammy Jo had leaped into Sable. Everyone rushed to the Control Room, and Sam took over as the observer. Sam watched as his daughter beat up Marc, knocking him unconcious. He advised that she get as much stuff together as she could and go find Calvin Decher, down at the night-club where Sable and Calvin worked.

     At about nine o'clock in the morning, Jorica arrived to take over for Edward, seeing Trinity in severe pain. Peter and Genine show up shortly afterward, cell 15 as it was labelled outside, and Peter immediately inspected her, then ordered her to be moved to the infirmary and placed in a medical bath for an hour, then left to rest as long as required, despite the correctional period schedule. Once Trinity is placed in a medical bath, trying to remember where she had seen Genine before, she whispered Genine's name before falling to sleep in the bathtub. Augusta, feeling protective of Trinity, demanded of Genine from where Trinity knew her, and when Genine told her, Augusta said she should be the one in the cell with Edward, unintentionally displaying her protectiveness for Trinity. Genine promised to herself that she would help Trinity in any way possible, but Peter told Augusta to cool herself down or take up her problems with Lothos, and he and Genine left for Peter's office.

      Not five minutes after they arrive in the office, a guard knocked on the door and told Peter that he was required in Central Control immediately. There, Thames was awaiting the arrival of Peter, after having been released from his correction as well, also waiting for Tala, somebody very close to Lothos for reasons unknown to Thames. Tala typed in a request to Lothos, and waited, not getting a response. (She is the only person known in the complex to not have implants.) Once Peter arrived, Lothos immediately ordered Thames away, knowing that was his only reason for being there. Lothos told Peter that he knew about his feelings for Genine while Mara made her way to Central Control. She gave him twelve lashes of a miniature cat-'o-nine-tails, and he was sent back to his office, shirtless to display his wounds. He returned to his office, where Genine waited nervously for him to return. She immediately began tending to his wounds.

     Lothos addressed Tala when they were alone again in Central Control, asking her what her concerns were. She asked him when she could choose a mate, he lets her speak her mind, and mentioned that she would prefer a mate like Lothos or Sam. This put Lothos in a difficult position, and he told her to leave him so that they could discuss the matter later. Asleep in the bathtub, Trinity had nightmares about a adolescent sexual assault and the recent one by Edward, thrashing about and spilling water on the floor. Augusta helped calm her down, trying to keep her from drowning. Trinity never woke from her sleep, but managed to stop having nightmares.

     After Sammy Jo leaped into Sable, Gooshie and Beth took Sable to the infirmary, who quickly began to regain conciousness. Verbina also returned to the Waiting Room to calm down Sable who would now see Sammy Jo in the reflective bed instead of a slightly-older self. In the infirmary, Beth explained to Sable all what happened. After a physical examination, Beth released Sable from the infirmary. She and Gooshie headed for the Control Room upon hearing Ziggy having difficulty speaking.

     Sam directed Sammy Jo to the night-club, almost nine at night when they arrive. Calvin let Sable in, and immediately knew that Marc had hurt Sable. When Calvin began to atack Marc, the Sable in Sammy Jo began to take over, and she couldn't control what she was saying. Calvin went to tell their boss that they couldn't work that night, but ended up getting fired. He, however, didn't tell Sammy Jo that at the time. As they were beginning to load Sable's things from her car into Calvin's van, Leaper Sam Beckett leaped into Calvin, and Observer Sam Beckett knew it when it happened. Despite Sam's warnings for Sammy Jo not to touch Calvin, she does, and realised who he was... her father. After saying that she loved him, she leaped.

     Sam returned to the Control Room from the Imaging Chamber, telling everyone that she had leaped. Within a few minutes, she had landed again, this time into a twenty-year-old woman named Kyra Jolie Dawson. Sam steped back into the Imaging Chamber to see Sammy Jo hunched over a toilet with a young man, her boyfriend Alexander Li, beside her, the sounds of a party floating in the air. Sammy Jo gets herself alone in a bedroom with Sam to talk.

     While Tala walked the halls to her quarters, she addressed Lothos vocally, accepting any punishment that she should receive. Edward overheard her, and took it upon himself to punisher her. He spent six hours abusing her sexually and physically, and when he was finished, she headed back to Central Control and apologised greatly to Lothos for mentioning Sam's name. When Lothos discovered that Edward had done this to Tala on his own accord, he immediately ordered all personell from levels four to thirteen to assemble in the main assembly area, and for Edward to report to Central Control. Genine and Peter hear the announcement and head immediately for the assmebly area. Lothos also contacted Xavier through his implants, telling him to report to the ante-room of the assembly area. Tala thought that it was going to be for her, that she would be an example to everyone. Olivia arrived at Central Control and took Tala into a back room, complete with a bathtub, to tend to her wounds. Olivia got Tala into a medicated bath to help her wounds, but she began dreaming about Edward and thrashed in the water, causing Olivia to pull her out. However, Tala had gone into shock. Lothos told Olivia to do for her what she could in the room instead of moving her to the infirmary. Olivia warmed up Tala and Tala soon went to sleep.

     Edward, when he arrived at the Central Control, is taken to the ante-room. When he asked Lothos, "What is she to you?", Lothos responded through his implants, "She is my daughter." Xavier is ordered to remove Edward's tongue, testicles, and penis, without anestesia. The "removal" takes just over an hour, with Edward passing out from pain half-way through, the entire procedure being watched by the people in the assmebly area. Edward was then moved to an isolated room near the correctional facility.

     Tala wakes up some hours later, in the afternoon, to find herself in the infirmary. Peter arrived to check up on her situation, and Olivia suggested that Edward should be severely punished for what he did to Tala. Peter mentioned that Edward already was punished, and did something that Olivia never saw him do before: sweat. Before Olivia can respond, Thames walked up to Peter. He hadn't seen the punishment of Edward, and when he was trying to push Peter "over the edge" by talking about Genine, Tala thought that Thames was Edward, and jumped out of bed to attack him. She got a few good punches on Thames before Peter got her back into her bed. Genine appeared in the infirmary, having been ordered by a "voice" that she had to be there. Peter told her to leave, and when she didn't, he put on an act to ensure that Lothos and Thames are thrown off, and called a guard to put Genine in chains for twenty minutes for not obeying him. Thames decided to follow Genine to her cell, but Peter showed up and shooed him out. Genine tried to readjust herself, and ended up dislocating her shoulders. Peter called Augusta and they relocated them, then left Genine in loose chains, unconcious.

     Two hours later, Genine was returned to Peter's office, and he entered to find her on the cot. She told him that she had a malignant brain tumour, and that she was dying. Peter immediately headed for the infirmary to check Genine's record, and found no mention of a brain tumour. He headed to Central Control to confront Lothos about that fact, and mentioned that he will perform surgery on Genine to remove the tumour. Immediately after Peter left Central Control, Tala woke up again, tended to by a nurse Helen. She asked Lothos if she could return to her duties, and was told after one more hour. Thames arrived just in time to pass by Peter at Central Control, and was instructed by Lothos that he will watch over Genine as soon as her surgery is over with. Tala arrived in Central Control after forty minutes, and Lothos told Peter through his implants to return to Central Control. She is told that she will be Peter's personal assitant because of his busy schedule. But, Lothos's underlying plan is that Tala and Peter are to become mates, and tells that to Peter, warning him that Tala is not to know that. Peter and Tala return to Peter's office so that they can begin preparing Genine for her surgery, along with Olivia. They get some blood samples from Genine, and Olivia and Tala take them to the medical lab.

      Peter and Genine were now alone, and he revealed that he was the doctor who delivered Tala when she was born. At three o'clock, after Genine's X-ray scans, Olivia releaved Tala of duty for an hour's break. She decided to pay a visit to Lothos first, asking about her new assignement. After her lunch break was over, she returned to Peter's office, soon being sent to retrieve food from the cafeteria for Peter and Genine. Upon her return, Tala and Peter started talking, and kissed, their embrace broken by a groaning from Genine as she woke up. Olivia reported to the office soon after as well, confused by the way Peter and Tala were acting. However, once Tala was tending to Genine again, she detected a very high fever and alerted Peter of it. He knew that she had to be cooled down immediately from the allergic reaction to the morphine, and called for a gurney to take Genine to the infirmary. Tala, meanwhile, ran to the cafeteria to fill a bucket with ice cubes, and nearly plowed over Trevor Conroy while taking the bucket out of the cafeteria. He helped her carry it back to Peter's office, just as Olivia was preparing an antedote for the morphine. Trevor and Tala then went to the infirmary to find out what was taking the gurney so long, and followed the nurses with the gurney back to Peter's office, whereupon Trevor invited Tala to dinner. Instead, she offered to make dinner for him, in six hours.

     Peter and Olivia went with the gurney carrying Genine back to the infirmary. He glanced into the bathing room to see Augusta still watching Trinity sleeping. He tells Olivia to run a cold bath and for Tala to get two more buckets of ice. Tala was lugging the two buckets out of the cafeteria when one spilled, causing her to fall and injure her left arm. Peter took the ice from her and put her in a bed to rest until Olivia could take her to the X-ray room. Genine's vital signs started to level out, so Peter rushed to set Tala's arm after the X-rays. Tala refused morphine for the resetting of her arm, causing her to feel dizzy and nauseous after the bone snapped back into place. Peter ordered her to rest in her quarters for the next few hours, and she did so, falling into a painful sleep.

     When Tala woke up, she saw that she had about twenty minutes until her date with Trevor. He was in the logistics section, and when seven o'clock came around, his boss Mr. Devlin told him of the time, and Trevor flew out to meet her in the cafeteria. Since Tala couldn't cook, he offered to take her to the restaurant on the third level, called The Moonlight Hideaway. They had an enjoyable dinner, and Trevor walked Tala back to her quarters, and they both indicated that they wanted to do it again. After he left, she slipped into bed. Trevor left Tala's quarters at eleven fifteen, and started heading for his own. However, when the elevator doors opened again, he found himself on the Central Control level. Lothos and Zoey were arguing about Alia when Trevor walked in. Zoey was dismissed, and Trevor had a quick overview by Lothos, and was also dismissed. He headed for his quarters, very nervous about being talked to by Lothos in "person", but went to sleep within ten minutes.

      Zoey, when dismissed, headed for the inifmary, and ran into Thames on the way. Zoey learned that both Trinity and Genine were unwell and in the infirmary, and since she was reporting there for treatment, she thought it would be a good idea to see those two in pain. Trinity began waking up when Genine's vitals started returning to normal, and noticed that Genine was also regaining conciousness, but Trinity quickly fell back asleep. As soon as Zoey and Thames entered the infirmary, Olivia pushed them into the private bathing room where Zoey had been earlier. After some arguing between Thames and Zoey, Lothos instructs Thames to take a twelve-hour rest period while Zoey would take over for him in watching Genine.

     Danielle, a nurse, rushed to Genine's side to calm her down when she screamed out at Lothos. Peter returned and helped get Genine into a bed. Just as Augusta was about to leave for a break, she noticed Trinity was now fully awake. Augusta told her that she would spend the night in the infirmary and have some blood work done in the morning, and Trinity fell asleep quickly after slipping into the infirmary bed.

     Genine and Peter attempt a charade to trick everyone into thinking that Genine loves him because of a misplaced admiration for her doctor. Once Peter leaves, she was sedated and the back of her head shaved in preparation for the operation.

The operation to remove Genine's tumour was supposed to begin at one o'clock, but Tala was not present to observe. So, Peter held for twenty minutes, waiting for Tala, and nearly exploded with anger when she was a no-show, then began the procedure. At three twenty, Tala woke up and hurried herself to the operating room. Peter had removed the tumour already, and Tala knew she was in for the lecture of a life-time after the operation. Peter told her sternly about how strict he is, and gave her a shot for the pain in her arm from which she was suffering. It knocked her out, and would do so for another twelve hours. Peter had Tala moved to her quarters and instructed Danielle to check on her every two hours.

     At seven o'clock, Allen McAlister, best friend of Trevor, arrived for his duty shift in the logistics sector. Trevor showed up two hours later, fashionably late. Allen immediately intersected him, demanding details about his date with Tala. At noon, Trevor went to visit Tala, but was stopped by Danielle, telling him that she isn't to be disturbed. Tala finally woke up from her drug-induced sleep at four in the afternoon.

     Trinity woke up shortly after seven fifteen, greeted by Augusta, and told that breakfast would be served in a half-hour. Peter showed up after two hours of sleep, noticing that Trinity was in a bed. At eight o'clock, a nurse named Ana had taken blood samples from Trinity, and Augusta returned from a short break to take Trinity to a small examination room. Peter arrived and examined Trinity, deeming her fit to return to correction and had Jorica paged to take her back to her cell. After Peter left, Trinity pleaded with Augusta to hide her so that she wouldn't have to return to correction in fear of Edward, causing Lothos to shock her and add a week to her correctional term. (She knew nothing of Edward's punishment for attacking Tala.) Jorica arrived and took Trinity back to the correctional cell.

     Nearly as soon as they reach the torture cell, Jorica took Trinity out again, this time to the labour sector completely inhabitted by the lowest grade of males. Jorica instructed her that she will work here for a month for nine hours of the day, and of course, Trinity was to be completely naked for her entire year of correction at all times. Trinity was "introduced" to Supervisor Arthur Dane, the man in charge of this area of the computer maintainance/support sector, and was told that she was a replacement for a man, Dan, who was out with a broken arm. She worked for eight hours, debugging glitches in some logistics algorithms, before being returned to her cell at about five o'clock, but was then instructed to return to level thirteen to take her file to Supervisor Dane. After he signed Trinity's file, Dane dismissed her and headed for his own quarters for the night.

     At six in the evening, both Peter and Trevor showed up at Tala's quarters, both with a rose in hand. Tala was taken aback to see them both there, but the uncomfortable scene slowly relaxed a bit. She offered them both chocolate-covered strawberries, but Peter had to recline since he was allergic to strawberries. Peter decided to leave to check on Genine, now his only patient, but was stopped by Tala in the hallway. He gave her a kiss and continued on his way, leaving her in a daze. She and Trevor talked for a while before he decided to leave too, but Tala convinced him to stay and watch TV with her. She eventually fell asleep again, so Trevor left, also to sleep in his own quarters.

      Jorica took Trinity on a tour of the correctional facility, showing her the dining area and explaining all of the rules. Trinity also learned that she would have to give oral reports to Lothos on her progress each day. Since it was late, Jorica left and told Trinity to rest up. After six hours of sleep, Jorica woke up again.

Tala woke up again at about two in the morning, and called Dr. Hugen because of the huge shots of pain she was receiving from her arm. As he arrived at her door, Allen, who couldn't sleep and found himself wandering the halls, saw Peter enter Tala's quarters. Peter gave Tala some medicine for her arm and stuck around for fifteen minutes to make sure it was going to work. They ended up kissing for a third time. Allen, who was waiting in the hallway, was getting suspicious about Peter's visit, thinking maybe Tala was cheating on Trevor. The door had been left unlocked, and slightly ajar, so Allen decided to take a peek, just as Peter and Tala began their kiss.

      Allen quickly got out of the way when Peter went to leave, and watched as Tala, sniffling, rushed out of her quarters and took the stairs to the top level, and exited the complex into the year-round garden at the main entrance into the complex. She didn't know it, but she was followed closely by Allen, and when she was walking on the grass, she laid down and began pounding her cast on the graound despite the pain, and it broke off. However, the medicine from Peter put her to sleep quickly, and Allen saw everything. He carried her back to her quarters, putting her into the bed and closing the door behind him as he headed to his own quarters, and didn't get a wink of sleep when his alarm went off at six o'clock.

     Jorica got up at three thirty, and an hour later returned to Trinity's cell. After a brutal whipping session, Trinity was bathed and then taken back to the labour sector at six. However, as Trinity walked over to her seat from the previos day, Ron had returned and was sitting there instead. Dane instruced him to help Trinity with finding the bugs that she had been working on yesterday.

     Tala got up at six, and decided to go to the cafeteria to get breakfast. Danielle saw her in the hall and asked her about the missing cast. Tala told her that she had taken it off in anger, and darted out of the elevator once it reached the cafeteria floor. Tala got herself breakfast, which was knocked off of her right hand when a technician accidentally bumped into her, causing the entire cafeteria to turn their attention to her. Lothos told Allen through his implants that he'd better not utter a word about what he saw last night, and to get to his post within three minutes for a very long shift.

      Embarassed, Tala began heading out the door, but Tervor stopped her, and Allen breezed by them without so much as a glance. Lothos called Peter to the cafeteria, seeing Tala was in pain, and when he arrived, Tala told everyone to leave her alone and she walked away hurriedly. Trevor grabbed Tala's arm in an attempt to stop her, but she slapped him hard across the face, and she ran off to her old workstation to cry. Trevor stomped off to his position in the logistics sector, getting annoyed with Allen and the choice topic of conversation: Tala.

     Peter had returned to his office and asked Lothos to call Tala to report to him, and she does so soon enough. Her task for the day was to type up the thirty files located on Peter's desk. Five hours later, Trevor took a visit to Peter's office, knowing Tala would be inside. They have an unproductive conversation, ending up with hurt on both sides. Trevor returned to his job, silent for the rest of the day. When Peter returned in the late afternoon, he told Tala that the information not only had to by typed up in triplicate, but also inputted to the computer. He gives her the choice of doing it now to prove her point that she can do the work, or finish it later after having a cast and medication. She decided to finish the work, and Peter went to his quarters for sleep.

     Trevor had left work at five in the afternoon, and Allen was there for quite a while longer before Mr. Devlin told him to go. Allen went searching for Trevor, finding him in his quarters sulking about Tala, with Trevor telling Allen that Tala was "the one". But, Trevor had been drinking many a beer, and feeling kind of ill, he decided to go to bed, so Allen left.

     At nine o'clock, Tala was half-way through the stack of files, and was done them at midnight.

Tala stood up from her chair and tripped on it from her foot that had fallen asleep. She landed hard on her wrist, breaking it, after banging her forehead on the table. She got herself to Peter's quarters, and he rushed her to the infirmary. After an hour, now that she had a fresh cast and a bandage on her head, Peter took Tala to her room and he returned to the infirmary to see Genine. She was still sleeping, so he went to his quarters.

     Zoey arrived for her shift to watch Genine, walking into Recovery Room One she ordered Danielle to leave the room now that Genine was under her care. Danielle, somebody who looked up to Zoey, felt badly when she told Zoey that she couldn't leave her post at the express orders of Peter, and immediately afterward Danielle exposed her admiration for Zoey. Before Zoey could react, Lilah Warrin, the senior night-shift nurse, cut in and told Danielle that she would take over for her until Genine woke up. Zoey was immediately ordered by Lilah to wait outside, and after a few moments of hesitation, she went out to lean against the wall.

     Peter was woken up by a phone call at twenty past four, a nurse telling him that Genine had woken up. When he reached Genine's room, he found not Thames, but Zoey on watch, as they had alternated twelve-hour shifts for the past two days. Once Peter closed the door behind him, he told Genine that the tumour was the size of a marble, it was benign, and it had been putting pressure on her brain which caused her symptoms of dizziness and headaches. Peter told Lilah to help Genine get up and back to normal functions again, and he left to get more sleep.

     A few hours later, Lilah took Genine out of the recovery room for food, a bath, and a walk. They passed by Zoey in the hallway, she being the recipiant of glares from both Genine and Lilah. Zoey went in and sat on a chair in the recovery room while talking to Lothos, who explained that he had a plan to catch Genine and Peter together. She was releaved of duty and Thames took over for her, no words passing between them as Zoey walked by him toward the elevator.

     Shortly after noon, Peter returned to the infirmary to begin his day, and seventy-five minutes passed before he could go check on Genine. He told her to rest for a couple more hours, then continue her walking trips with a nurse at her side. It is later on in the evening at about eight thirty when Peter returned to see Genine again. They went for a walk to test Genine's recuperation, and upon their return to the recovery room, Peter mentioned that he would return around ten to look after her privately again. At that moment, Lothos woke Zoey and alerted her to replace Thames before ten.

     At ten fifteen, Peter returned to the recovery room, finding no "watchdog" (Thames or Zoey) outside. Lothos directed Thames to the main assembly area shortly before ten, and Zoey hid in the recovery room beside Genine's, waiting fifteen minutes after Peter and Genine left the infirmary for Peter's office. Shortly after Peter and Genine arrived, they both began expressing their love for each other, both of them nearly naked on the couch in his office.

      Allen found himself suffering from insomnia again, and began wandering the corridors despite what had happened last time he had done so. He found himself on the tenth level, where Peter's office was located. The door was unlocked and partially ajar, as he walked by the door, he could hear Peter dictate his love for Genine. During his peering through the door, Zoey came upon him and sharply but quietly ordered him away. He quickly dashed back to his quarters for fear of Lothos's wrath. After spying on Peter and Genine for a few minutes, Zoey was surprised when Danielle approached her from behind. Zoey's tart response was unanswered as she decided it was time to bust in on Peter and Genine, finally getting the proof needed (while she was in the hallway, since implants don't work inside Peter's office). Lothos, immediately overjoyed at finally having proof of their forbidden affair, had guards report to the office to chain Peter and take him and Genine to the correctional facility to meet with Mara.

      However, Peter and Genine were taken to the main assembly area. Lothos ordered Zoey to call all people from levels four to thirteen on the intercom to the main assembly area immediately, lest they be severely punished. Tala heard the page and immediately woke up, meeting Trevor at the assembly area. Zoey arrived to find a seat open beside Thames, and sat down cheerfully, knowing that Xavier was called into action again. He was instructed to ensure that Genine would see every second of Peter's torture, no matter what. Lothos instructed Mara to strip Peter and give him one hundred lashes with her cat-o'-nine-tails and to carry the punishment out until dawn, which was over seven hours away.

At the break of dawn, the one hundredth lash is laid upon Peter's bloody body, and Lothos dismissed everybody from the main assembly area, stating that a skeleton crew will work the day. He also tells Genine that she will never be alone ever again. Genine's new supervisor, the one of female leaper trainees, arrived and took Genine away, at the same time as the audience began to leave. Tala and Trevor professed their love for one another, with Allen watching them the entire time. Then the two in love headed for Tala's quarters, and she decided she needed more sleep. Zoey and Thames were the last ones to leave the main assembly area, and he quickly excused himself for a rest period. Zoey then went about her normal duties, biding her time until she could check up on Genine and Trinity.

     Genine was put through a process of forms and introduced to her new sleeping area with three other apprentice leapers by Supervisor Kane. Lothos then had Genine put through a physical examination, blood work, and a medicated bath, which would be followed by a twelve-hour rest period. He also mentioned that Peter was in a medicated bath, screaming his lungs out. After he was pulled from the bath, he was wrapped in gauze and placed in the "cellar" of the complex, sharing a room with a still-unconcious Edward.

Trevor, up at five o'clock, took a shower and got out just as Tala rang his doorbell. Allen also showed up in about five minutes, getting a flip onto his back from Tala at a remark towards her about being "hot and sweet". The two men headed to work, and lunch at twelve thirty, running into Tala at the cafeteria, with her and Allen apologising for what happened earlier. Later on, Allen called Tala and invites her to dinner at seven with Trevor and him. However, that night was Trevor's parents' anniversary, so Allen and Tala went out to the restaurant on the third level together. After some wine and dinner, they went to the flower garden on the ground level, where Allen and Tala kissed as Trevor stumbled upon them. Allen left after the three of them yelled at each other, and Trevor walked Tala home after she tripped and hurt herself again. Trevor left for his own quarters, and Tala paid Allen a visit, then to see Trevor, bringing the time to about midnight. He walked the slighty-tipsy Tala back to her quarters, and then slept in his own.

     Genine was in leaper training. Trinity continued in her correction.

Genine, after three days of being in leaper training, received a surprise visit from Zoey early in the morning, and Genine received an hour of correction with Graydon, a torture master, for insubordination. After delivering Genine, Zoey made a visit to Trinity as well, judging Jorica's torturing ability. Trinity was taken to work after the hour-long evaluation, and Zoey continued the monthly leaper check-up.

At six thirty, Tala received a visit from Peter to check on her casts and to talk. After he leaves, Trevor shows up and is met by an angry Tala, because she has to wear the casts for another month. At 8:45, Tala headed to her post at the infirmary, briefly speaking with Jerry. After Tala worked for a while, a hollar from Dr. Hugen's office caught the attention of the entire infirmary staff. Somebody had placed files in the wrong spots, and all of the nurses and clerks were lectured by Peter, mostly Tala because he blamed her. However, she set him straight, and he punished the offenders. After the nurses leave, Peter and Tala had an intimate encounter, but they didn't know that Lothos saw it all as surveilence equipment was installed during Peter's imprisonment.

      Unwittingly, Peter told Tala not to discuss their sexual activities with others before she went back to her quarters for a shower, which parallelled to her being raped by Edward, and Tala went into a rage when Trevor came to her door. Nevertheless, he followed her back to the infirmary when she returned for her shift, and left at the advice of Peter once she was locked in her office from her anger. Dr. Hugen ordered Tala into his office to speak about why she greeted him with such a coldness, and he ended up professing his love for both her and Genine. Tala convinced herself that she was only "second best", and rushed to her quarters, smashing her right arm in the stairwell and hearing a crack. Back in her quarters, she downed some tequila and, in her state of mind, stabbed herself in the neck. Peter was already on his way to her quarters, and had a medical team rush her to the infirmary for immediate surgery.

      Lothos, knowing that Edward is the root of Tala's pain, ordered Xavier to prepare a long torture session. After Tala's surgery when she woke up eight hours later, Trevor took up a permanent seat at her side after Peter gave her some comforting words. Tala told Trevor why Edward was punished (for raping her), as well as telling him about making love with Peter twice earlier that day. However, she professed that she loves Trevor more, and after a half-hour nap, she began having a nightmare in which Trevor overheard Peter's name. That set him off, and he rushed to Dr. Hugen's quarters, where they had a fist-fight and a long conversation about their love for Tala.

Trinity woke up at five o'clock to her normal torture routine by Jorica, only to feel weak and nauseous. Jorica took her out of the cell for a trip to the infirmary, and when Trinity caught a glimpse of the date, she became irate at finding that it had only been a month of correction so far. Peter Hugen examined Trinity, and in the end, issued a urine and pregnancy test, claiming it to be a routine procedure for a woman her age. When Trinity was alone in the room with Olivia, the leaper asked to see Augusta. Trinity realised that she is more than likely pregnant, and tells Augusta so, privately thinking that if it was Edward's child, that it would never be born.

      Outside of Trinity's examination room, Oliva and Peter discussed the results of the pregnancy test, which came up positive, and also noted that she had the flu. After Dr. Hugen completed a pelvic examination to confirm the pregnancy, Trinity had an outburst of hatred toward Edward, stating that the baby would not be born. Augusta and Dr. Hugen tried to convince her to give birth to the baby and give it up for adoption, and she told them that she would think about it. Peter gave the order for Trinity's correction to be curtailed, and gave Trinity a day of rest in her cell. Realising that the baby would greatly reduce any torture, Trinity decided then to eventually give birth to the baby.

      Upon returning to Trinity's cell, Jorica told her that she was going to be left alone for the twenty-four hours, and could have food brought to her. Just as Jorica was about to leave, Zoey was at the door, and demanded to know why Trinity was not under correction. When Jorica explained Peter's orders, Zoey stormed off to his office.

Tala has been seeing Dr. Melanie Taylor, a psycho-therapist at EPQL, for five weeks after her attempted suicide. When Dr. Taylor asked Tala about the reason for trying to kill herself, Tala felt sick to the stomach, and the doctor ordered Tala to see a nurse, and was examined by Dr. Stafford. He ordered a urine sample and a pregnancy test, since Tala's last period was over a month prior. The results of the test stated that Tala was pregnant, and her first action after the inspection was over was to tell Peter, and then to see Trevor. After discussing with Trevor, she goes back to her post, and while talking to Peter, they make love again. Afterward, Peter tells Tala that they can not be together, and they part. Lothos reminds Hugen that he must marry Tala, and that he would kill Genine before letting him lay a hand on her.

     After work, Trevor went to Tala's quarters to tell her that he will stand by her throughout everything. Tala eventually calls Peter to her quarters in order for the three of them to talk. All three got their feelings out in the open, Tala and Trevor saying that they'll be together for ever. Peter left, and not too long afterward, Tala and Trevor spent the passionate night together.

In the morning, Tala and Trevor's passion continues... in the afternoon, Tala went to see Dr. Dorothy Hilliard, the obstetrician. Peter was also in the examination room with Tala, and Dr. Hilliard found out that the father is her long-time friend, Peter Hugen. After the appointment, Tala found Trevor in waiting area, and they decided that both he and Peter should attend the obstetrical appointments. The couple went to the ice cream parlour on the third level, then returned to Tala's quarters for the rest of the weekend.

Tala and Trevor woke up at quarter to six, and head off to work after some showering. Tala found Peter to be ill, with a high fever. Peter demands to be left alone, to be aloud to work, but Tala and Olivia took him to his quarters to rest. After about five hours, Peter woke up after his fever breaking an hour prior. He rushed to the bathroom with nausea, and Tala decided to call Trevor to say where she was. That set him off, as he had been waiting for her to come for lunch, and he slammed the phone down and headed back to work. Tala spent the rest of the day and night with Peter, watching over him, and sleeping with him in the bed.

At five thirty, Halley Green, a nurse, came to relieve Tala of her duties, but Tala requested a few more hours so that Peter could continue sleeping comfortably. She saw that they were in bed together, and while she went to wait, she was in the cafeteria with some other nurses. She told them about Tala and Peter, and Ginger, another nurse, decided to go tell Trevor who was also in the cafeteria. Naturally, Trevor became infuriated. After the three hours were up, Halley returned to Peter's quarters, and told Tala about what Ginger did. Tala and Halley talked it out, and as Tala went on with her day, she met Ginger in the elevator, and scolded her.

      Tala went to Trevor's quarters in the evening and found Trevor throwing a fit in his quarters. She tried to talk to him, but ended up getting punched in the jaw against the door. Trevor tossed her out into a group of guys, one of them being Allen, who took her to the infirmary. Dr. Stafford ordered an immediate X-ray, knowing that her jaw was broken. Allen left and told Trevor what he had done, and Trevor headed to the infirmary, only to be dismissed by Olivia. Lothos condemned Trevor to a half-hour torture session for every break in Tala's jaw, for every day it takes her to heal.

      The next thing Tala knew, she woke up with a wired jaw. Olivia was watching over Tala, and after some discussion, revealed that she is Dr. Hugen's aunt.

At four thirty, Trevor had his first one-and-a-half-hour correction session by TM Toby Larson. In the afternoon at 14:10, Tala woke up after fifteen hours of sleep, and immediately wanted to go to her room. Dr. Stafford told her that it would be a few days before she could, and found out that she would be wired for eight weeks. In the evening, after dinner, Allen and Trevor paid Tala a visit. Allen found out about the pregnancy, and Tala asked to speak along with Trevor, telling him about being fully dressed while being in bed with Peter, and him telling her about the correction he endured. Trevor left, and Lothos and Tala had a talk before she drifted to sleep.

Dr. Stafford checked up on Tala, and discharged her from the infirmary with a week of work and the order to not talk period. At seven thirty, Tala visited Peter's quarters, communicating with a pen and paper to Halley. Peter woke up while Tala was writing him a letter, and saw the bruising on her face. With fury, he got himself dressed and, with Tala on his heels, went to Trevor's quarters only to punch him in the face a few times. Tala could do nothing, so she went to see Dr. Taylor, who told her to go get some rest. Melanie also alerted Jerry Stafford about Tala's situation, and after a few hours of surgery on Trevor's jaw and nose, he went to her quarters to find it in utter chaos after she unleashed her anger, and discovered her sleeping on an overturned mattress. Jerry noticed that Tala was pale, and she mentioned that she felt cold. He drew her a warm bath, and after she warmed up, she slept for tweleve hours.

Waking at 14:30, Tala was visited by Jerry, who told her that Trevor would be wired for twelve weeks, had four breaks, two fractures, and two knocked-out jaw teeth. Peter had been placed in correction, and during one of the breaks, he came to see Tala right after Jerry. The visit does not go well, with Tala angry at Peter for hurting Trevor, and he leaves, locking himself in his room until Monday at six in the morning. After Peter left, Tala wrote a letter to both of the men in her life, and went to sleep.

      Trevor woke up, finding himself wired up and having Abigail Lancent, a nurse, at his bedside. Olivia told him about what had happened, and how Tala was. Angela, another nurse and ex-girlfriend of Trevor, demanded to know why he hit Tala. He recieved Tala's letter, then wrote one of his own to her. Angela ran to Tala's quarters to give her two cents about the issue, with Marlene (another nurse) watching the two. Tala suddenly became faint, and she was rushed to the infirmary. Dr. Stafford arrived as Tala was being taken into an examination room, and called for Dr. Hilliard.

      It turned out that Tala had more than a faint: she was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia, a potentially-fatal condition. After some tests, Dorothy Hilliard told Tala that she can not be stressed out at all, as she must keep her blood pressure normal. Angela, Tala's watch for the time being, was told to not let anybody but Dr. Hilliard or Dr. Stafford into the room. At 21:00, Angela was relieved, and went to tell Trevor about what was happeneing with Tala. After he fell asleep, Angela resumed her duty at Tala's side, only to see her have a seizure after telling her that Trevor was nearby. Dr. Hilliard stated that her pre-eclampsia was now full-blown.

Saturday, May 13, 2000

Five hours after her seizure, Tala woke up, and in a state of depression after a nightmare, ran from her room to hide. Lothos alerted Dr. Hilliard of where she was, and the doctor with a couple of nurses took Tala back to her bed, under restraints. Trevor heard the noise, and asked to see Dr. Stafford, who came and told him about Tala's affliction with eclampsia.

      Tala woke up a couple hours later to find herself under the restraints, and was told about what her nightmarish run. Dr. Hilliard paid her a visit, and told her that she had to keep her stress level down in order to keep her blood pressure low, as high blood pressure was dangerous in her condition. Dorothy asked her to let out some of her anger, and Tala told the doctor about Edward Grant's sexual rape, which engulfed Tala in a delusion of Edward being there, and she passed out, and had another seizure. After she regained conciousness shortly, both Jerry Stafford and Dorothy Hilliard spoke to her, telling her that she had to let out her stresses, and would eventually have to be put on permanent bedrest. Stafford tore into Tala when she started complaining, which shut her up. When he left, Hilliard "prescibed" thirty minutes a day of cartoons for Tala, for stress relief, and left to let the mother-to-be rest.

      Genine found out from another leaper trainee, Anastasia, about Peter and Tala's relationship. After Ana saw how much it hurt Genine, she began to apologise, but Lothos corrected her for such actions of pity. With anger, Genine charged to Peter's office to confront him. After some acidic words between them, Genine realised that she still loved Peter, and when she professed it, Lothos punished her with an agony-filled shock. After the punishment, Lothos ordered Genine to go find Zoey to ask for correction with a TM.

      After leaving Tala's room, Dorothy headed to talk to Jerry about his behaviour toward Tala. Four hours later, Dorothy returned to Tala's room for a check-up, as did Jerry to apologise for his words from before. At the end of the day, Dr. Hilliard congratulated Dr. Stafford for his mature attitude.

Sunday, May 14, 2000

Zoey was working in Central Control, overlooking the recent additions to the retrieval program, discovering some programming errors that were attributed to Siren, her unknown daughter and unknown twin to Tala, and "the woman with the mask"; a mask ordered by Lothos for Siren to wear at all times. When Siren arrived to find Zoey at her desk, and heard why she was visiting, she was astonished that there would be errors in her work, as she'd been in the logistical sector for eight years. The mother and daughter went to Central Control to take another look at the coding. After discovering that it was the fault of Barry Pendleton, Siren's supervisor, Zoey ordered a correction session for him with Graydon.

      Siren headed to the gym to work out her frustrations. Jon McKenny, a gym supervisor, approached Siren when he noticed her vicious attack on the punching bag. After some talking, he asked her out for dinner that night. The main focus of the discussion at dinner was their pasts and Siren's mask. After their dinner, Jon walked Siren to her quarters. After he left, she chased after him, and invited him to come back to stay for a while. She revealed that her "father" was Xavier, and she hadn't had a date in over five years. After some champagne, they decided to call it a night.

Siren awoke at four-thirty and headed to the gym. Jon and his friend, David Fitspatrick, had a conversation about Siren, all of which she overheard, and all of which was not specifically flattering to her. Jon apologised for David's words and invited her to lunch.
